A very funny film that seriously raises the question of censorship.

Questioning the film: None of That

To understand the story, the theme, to express one's sensibility and to exercise one's critical thinking.

"One never says "I will be a painter" in front of a beautiful site, but in front of a beautiful painting."
Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919)

1 In what place does the film take place?
A museum.
2 Who are the main characters?
A museum guard and a nun.
3 What surprises the guard at the beginning of the film?
A black cardboard box has been stuck on to hide the nudity of the sculpture.
4 What is the guard's reaction?
He decides to peel off the cardboard box but, unfortunately, the part of the sculpture comes off with it.
5 The light of the museum goes out and the guard looks around the museum with his torch; what does he discover?
He discovers that a nun has glued cardboard boxes to all the sculptures in the museum.
6 Why do you think the nun is gluing cardboard boxes to the sculptures?
In the Catholic religion, as in many religions of the world, ascetic principles impose taboos in the area of sex and the nun cannot stand nudity in the museum.
7 Is thenun's action legitimate
No, because the sculptures are works of art.
8 At 1:58 the nun hesitates; why?
It'sa modern painting that may remind her of a Picasso painting. The nun hesitates because she does not know what she should hide.
9 At 2:11, do you know the sculpture that the nun discovers?
It isMichelangelo's David (1502), a masterpiece of the Renaissance. The real sculpture in white Carrara marble is on display at the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence and is 5.14 metres high, including its base.
Note that the authors of the film have reproduced the real museum setting behind the sculpture.
Students can do research on the internet to compare with the real sculpture.
10 What does the guard decide to do to prevent the nun from touching the David?
He decides to undress to distract her attention.
11 Is the guard's technique successful?
Yes and no, because the nun decides to stick a cardboard box on his body and forgets about his David; but, unfortunately, the protective glass of the sculpture breaks; the police then discover the guard naked and decide to take him away.
