The films-pour-enfants.com site is an aggregation site. We aggregate short films that the authors and rights holders have decided to make available to the public free of charge on online video sharing and viewing platforms.
We only aggregate short films hosted on the platform Vimeo which does not include any advertising before or during films unlike platforms like YouTube or Dailymotion.
If rights holders no longer wish to offer free viewing of their films and modify Vimeo's viewing conditions (private mode, blocking of aggregation, etc.), these films are automatically removed from our aggregation portal.
No, the short films on the portal are not royalty-free. Authors and rights holders offer their films for free viewing on the Internet, but these films are protected by the copyright law of each country.
For example, commercial uses or modifications of audiovisual content are subject to the agreement of the authors.
The possibility of watching films in public depends on the copyright law of each country and it is up to each user to check the legislation of the country of viewing.

We therefore invite teachers in France not to show the short films from the portal in class but to offer students the opportunity to watch them at home with their families and then participate in educational activities with teachers in class.
The authors of short films regularly communicate to us their new creations and a selection committee selects certain films with the main criteria of humanism, ecology, poetry and the originality of the visual universe.
We also go to meet the authors. Film festivals and animation schools are excellent resources for discovering new gems.

The association Films pour enfants creates the educational content of the portal internally but also sometimes calls on external authors.
With the support of the Ministry of National Education, 250 educational sheets were created in 2019 by a team of 20 teachers and film professionals. These activities were initially intended for teachers who had a paid subscription, but we are gradually making all of these activities available for free on the portal.
This is also the case of the selection grid and viewing advice to decide on the adequacy between content and age of children which was developed in collaboration with the association 3-6-9-12 and Serge Tisseron, sponsor of the association Films pour enfants.
But also many other resources that we are gradually adding to the site and sharing on social networks such as thematic tours offered by Réseau Canopé, files dedicated to image education or even files dedicated to the lexicon and grammar of cinema (Frame, Field, Off-camera, Sound off, Composition, Scale of shot, Angle of view...).
