Associate opposite words in a game based on the world of the film.
This film plays on the opposition between two “worlds”, day and night first, then the world of each of the two characters.
After viewing the film and a time to discuss everyone's feelings, the teacher will lead the children to find opposite elements in the film (day/night, up/down, etc.) then to find the antonym of certain words (white, to go up, standing, kindness, etc.). With the students, he will revisit the concept of antonyms.
the teacher can then invite the students to play the game “Antipoden” by dividing them into small groups of 6 maximum and presenting them with the rules of the game.
Print the material for this activity (cards and game rules)...
He will also make sure to explain to them the learning objective of the game (bringing together opposite words). Once the games are underway, the teacher will circulate among the different groups to observe and support the students if necessary. At the end of the session, time will be set aside to talk about the activity so that pupils can put what they have learned into their own words and share their feelings.
