A class memory.
Setting up a “class memory” is an important activity for kindergarten students. This memory will allow them to better understand the passing of time thanks to the traces left behind. The fall viewing will allow teachers to introduce seasonal boxes (4 “memory” boxes) where each student can place an object representative of the season.
After watching the film, children will be asked to list everything related to fall. You will also be asked to describe the character. Why a hat in the shape of mushrooms? The children will be asked to draw or write the names of objects relating to autumn, thus collectively building the first lexicon of the class.
It will be interesting to organize outings (park, forest but also to a market) in order to collect seasonal fruits and vegetables, but also to take meaningful photos. It will also be necessary to collect the children's impressions (it is cold, hot, humid, it is windy, etc.) In the school yard, if there is a tree, it would be appropriate for the children to draw it and take a photo of it.
If possible, all these collected items will be kept together in a cardboard box. Here is a small, non-exhaustive list:
These activities will be repeated each season, in the same form, so that students can compare the contents of each box and thus the evolution of the seasons.
