Seasonal boxes

After watching the film, children will be asked to list everything related to fall. The children will also be asked to describe the character. Why a hat in the shape of mushrooms? The children will be asked to draw or write the names of objects relating to autumn, thus collectively building the class's first word bank.

It will be interesting to organize outings (park, forest but also to a market) in order to collect seasonal fruits and vegetables, but also to take meaningful photos. It will also be necessary to collect the children's impressions (it is cold, hot, humid, it is windy, etc.) In the school yard, if there is a tree, it would be appropriate for the children to draw it and take a photo of it.

If possible, all these collected items will be kept together in a cardboard box. Here is a small, non-exhaustive list:

• Children's drawings.
• Glossary with words and photos.
• Photographs.
• Significant clothing for the season (rain boots in autumn, mittens in winter).
• Fruits, vegetables (you can use the plastic play-food from the toy shop set) or objects.
• A photo of the students (so they can see their own change throughout the year). The teacher will be sure to write “Autumn” on the box.

These activities will be repeated each season, in the same form, so that students can compare the contents of each box and thus how the seasons change.
