Educational activities

Mobilize language in all its dimensions.

After the students have exchanged texts and drawings, you can explore further the idea of messages as a way to communicate and to build a correspondence. How can we get to know, and perhaps understand and love, another person without ever meeting them?

With the neighboring class but why not also with another school, another city or another country?

This activity can be organized in several sessions.

Establish a correspondence (like the one between the snowman and the sandman in the film) with the neighbouring class of 4-5 year-olds (MS/GS). Write a letter to the neighboring class. Lend and share a book or film that the children enjoyed. Make a drawing on the theme of this book. Write the letter as a riddle (composed together as a class, orally) then, for example, copy words on glued strips of paper. Wait for a response from the neighboring class (who could send you a recipe that they liked to make, or a reading that they enjoyed...).
