Write the story of the film, record the children reading their story, match the soundtrack to the short film.
This little film is full of adventure. We will be able to ask the children to write the story of what they see on the screen, image by image, or extract by extract. First you will have to watch the film and work on the meaning, an imperative before moving on to writing. Put the first image on the screen or play the first extract. Have students work individually, in pairs, or in groups. Ask them to write a short text of one or two sentences that describes what they saw. Make a pool. Choose the most relevant version or mix several versions. Take it back and correct it. Read the final text with the image or excerpt to make sure it matches. Proceed in the same way for the other images or extracts. Then you will have to reread everything to ensure the consistency of the whole, avoid repetitions... Make the necessary modifications.
Once this writing work is completed, we will be able to move on to recording. Distribute the roles to the children, try reading while watching the film. It will certainly be necessary to insert “blanks” in order to properly align the story with the film. Then the children will be able to check in. The assembly will be done by the teacher or the students according to the objectives and the level of the children. To do this, you can use the free software Audacity.. The final result can be presented to other classes and/or parents.
