Identify the diet of living beings.
The film is shown to the students. The students are then encouraged to express themselves around the film and the situation comedy. A parallel can be drawn between Kippik and Scrat (Ice Age). The teacher will lead his students to think about this question: “Why are these animals looking for food in autumn? ".
The children are asked, in small groups, to sort images according to the criterion “hibernation or not”? To help them sort things out, the teacher can offer a series of documentaries and albums dealing with hibernation. The sorts carried out will be displayed on the board and commented on, in order to establish the list of animals which hibernate. To complete the work, show the video Why do animals hibernate?
Marmots, dormice, hedgehogs, bears (semi-hibernating), turtles, bats, frogs...
Following this sorting, the children are asked to construct a summary poster on hibernation (in the form of a mental map or a lesson to manipulate).
