Educational activities

Participate in an oral discussion on hygiene. Make a documentary poster.

This video allows us to follow a little mouse who cleans and tidies the house. It can serve as a starting point for a science sequence on hygiene and cleanliness.

Ask students to describe the activities of this little mouse. She tidies up, she sweeps and she cleans, we see her washing her hands several times and at the end of the video she washes her body.

Why should we wash our hands? And the body? To avoid diseases and the proliferation of microbes. Above all, do not guide the students, just note down their ideas and responses.

Then ask them to list the hygiene rules to follow to be in good health: brush their teeth after each meal, wash their hands regularly and after each use of the toilet, wash their body every day, get enough sleep... Always let them give their performances without guiding them, just note down.

Make a poster writing down all the students' ideas and set it aside. Do a complete sequence on body hygiene, food hygiene, sleep, etc. Then, at the end of the sequence, take out the poster, read it, and see the children's development and progress. Cross out what is incorrect, add missing information, and take stock: what have we learned? Then redo the poster cleanly. This activity can be part of the students' citizenship journey.

Extensions

Debate in E.M.C: clean or manic, is it the same? In the video the little mouse takes risks to put back the board which is crooked, she arranges the pencils in order of size. Is this important? Visual arts: draw the illustrations for the poster. Written production: write a short guide on health-promoting behaviors.
