Create a fresco to decorate the classroom, the school hallway.
In this poetic short film, the theme of water is omnipresent: rainwater, the water in which fish swim. This theme can be chosen for a visual arts sequence: students can be asked to create a fresco which will decorate the classroom or the school corridor. This fresco should represent the bottom of the ocean or a giant aquarium.
To do this, we will have to organize ourselves, choose together what we are going to draw, the colors, the materials, so that the final result is harmonious. The students will move from group to group and take turns; you will have to take into account the work previously done by others and add your personal touch.
We can put a large strip of drawing paper on the wall so that the students can work directly on it. But depending on the techniques used it may be wise to work flat or on the ground and then hang on the wall. The first step will be to create the background: agree on the colors used, as well as the technique. You can, for example, do it with a sponge, with diluted paint.
Then, the decor: the algae, the stones... and then the fish. These elements can be drawn directly on the fresco, but we can consider drawing them on drawing sheets and then sticking them on the fresco afterwards. It all depends on the organization chosen and the result we want to obtain.
To carry out this work we can draw inspiration from paintings by Alain Thomas such as “exotic fish” and “seabed with red algae”.
