Educational activities

Understand visualization and plan-view (top-down) design.

Create your ideal city from drawings or materials (paper, modeling clay, etc.).

This activity can be carried out over several sessions and can be divided as follows:

  • analysing different city districts in plan view The ratio of built to unbuilt space (solid/void), the roadways...
  • the creation of repositionable elements (trees, houses, etc.)
  • thinking together about the city to be created. Why not start with a river, a road or a square, then imagine the green spaces...
  • creating a base map/layout.
  • positioning of the repositionable elements on it.

When the city is built, imagine stories related to its use. For example, imagine that the river is used to bring raw materials, the square to host a market, or the street to serve businesses...
