Commentary on the film: Ushi-nichi

It's not easy to explain the absurd to children! Extravagance, incongruity, illogicality, false correlations. It is a form of humor which depends greatly on the era and the culture but also on the age of each person. With the students, imagine examples of absurd humor, seemingly logical but meaningless situations, associations of words, objects or characters which have, a priori, no connection between them. Humor is born when the mind perceives an abnormal, unexpected or bizarre fact, in a word incongruous and which breaks with the normal order of things. Immanuel Kant From around ages 9 to 11, why not approach laughter as a communication tool and in particular absurd humor in advertising: everyday life transformed into nonsense with the aim of provoking laughter. List with the children the absurd and irrational situations in the short film and try to understand how the comic effect is created. The use of pencil to animate the 2D characters and eraser to make the drawing vibrate reinforce the strange and offbeat universe of the film.
