In order to highlight part of the behind the scenes of creation, Benjamin Gibeaux, director of the film Les petites choses de la vie, answers our dreamlike questionnaire.
Discover the dreamlike universe of the directors, the imaginary worlds that influence them, the conscious or unconscious references underlying the films.

1- The character who touched you the most?
Probably the character played by Chaplin in Modern Times, an unsuitable being because he is too simple and human. Just like Tati's characters, and all "anti-heroes" in general!
2- The character that scared you the most?
Not one in particular, but in general I am much more marked by the "bad guys" who don't have super powers, who don't have anything supernatural. Those who send us back to our own darkness. Because it is more difficult to put distance between them and us, even if it is fiction.
3- The character you would most like to meet?
Cyrus Smith, the engineer hero of Jules Verne's novel The Mysterious Island! Because he is capable of creating anything from nothing. Although... in the same genre, the genie in Aladdin's lamp wouldn't be bad either.
4- The character you would like to reincarnate as (^_^)?
The invisible man.
5- The world you would like to live in?
In a Miyazaki film, any one.
6- The world you wouldn't want to live in?
Orwell's 1984 (although that's probably already the case).
7- What role would you like to play in a work of fiction?
No idea! (That of reader/spectator is already good).
8- Your earliest memory of fiction?
The “Little Bear” by Else Holmelund Minarik whose stories halfway between dream and imagination had a profound impact on me, largely thanks to the illustrations of Maurice Sendak.
9- Your favorite word?
“Crushed”
10- Music you would like to listen to now?
The Prelude to Tristan and Isolde by Wagner.
