In order to highlight part of the behind the scenes of creation, Pedro Solís García, director of the film Cuerdas, answers our dreamlike questionnaire.
Discover the dreamlike universe of the directors, the imaginary worlds that influence them, the conscious or unconscious references underlying the films.

1- The character who touched you the most?
I was deeply touched by the first minutes of the film Up. I understood that animation could be used for something other than making people laugh. Every time I doubted whether my short film "Cuerdas" would be understood, I remembered those minutes. Another character that touched me is Totoro. This is the first animated film I saw with my daughter.
2- The character that scared you the most?
I get scared easily. For example, I regularly get scared when I see a porcelain doll, whether in a movie or in real life. I'm also frightened by characters who take pleasure in causing harm.
3- The character you would most like to meet?
Sherlock Holmes. A fascinating character for an evening. I would like him to guess everything about me in a few seconds. I would also really like to have a conversation with Captain Nemo over dinner aboard the Nautilus.
4- The character you would like to reincarnate as (^_^)?
I would like to be Captain Renault in the film Casablanca by Michael Curtiz. He's a supporting character, but he's the starting point of cinema's most famous friendship at the end of a film. I would like to know more about his life before he met Rick Blaine.
5- The world you would like to live in?
Sometimes I wish I lived on Robinson Crusoe Island, alone. When I was a child, I dreamed of living in the middle of the sea, in a sort of wooden floating house, eating what I caught. The truth now is that I think it must be very hard and I don't know what would attract me.
6- The world you wouldn't want to live in?
A world dominated by machines that would control us and direct our lives. But wait, this world isn't fiction, it's real!
7- What role would you like to play in a work of fiction?
I would like to be a writer. I guess what I love most is being a storyteller. I love the way certain authors describe their characters, what these characters think, like...
8- Your earliest memory of fiction?
Fraggle Rock. I love this Jim Henson series. The characters are adorable. The lessons of stories are always positive.
9- Your favorite word?
Passion.
10- Music you would like to listen to now?
Hmm, now I feel like I'm listening to Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's_My_Home) in the Paul Young version. It's been a long time since I listened to it. It's a song that puts me in a state of sadness that I like. Okay, I'll look it up on YouTube! Original English version:
