A film for cycling enthusiasts and those nostalgic for the first Tours de France.
The story is reminiscent of the real misadventure of French cyclist Eugène Christophe during the descent of the Col du Tourmalet in the 1913 Tour de France. Eugène Christophe broke the fork of his bike and walked 14 kilometers before finding a forge to carry out the repair alone, as required by the Tour regulations.
The hero's long mustaches are also in the image of Eugène Christophe, nicknamed "the Old Gaul".
The Col du Tourmalet, located at an altitude of 2,115 meters in the Hautes-Pyrénées department, is the most climbed pass in the history of the Tour de France, present again during the 19th stage of the 2018 Tour, Lourdes-Laruns.
