A first snowflake settles on the cold ground, the ice cream vans contemplate the harsh winter to come. Like caribou and gray geese, the season marks the start of a long journey in search of sunnier climes. The opportunity to introduce children to the main migratory animals, such as swallows, storks, wild geese, cranes, salmon and even whales, but also the different ways in which other animals cope with winter: some hibernate, like marmots and hedgehogs, while others build up reserves, change their coat or adapt their diet.
