In the main section, use language to describe, make yourself understood, enrich your vocabulary.
Using this very poetic video support, the language will be taught explicitly. Naming, describing, explaining, relating actions experienced allows for distancing and therefore awareness of these actions.
Activity steps
Step 1 Watch the film as a whole class if possible.
Step 2 At the regrouping corner: spontaneously recount everything you have seen and provide a first understanding of the living world. The teacher: “we try to remember everything we saw in the video”. The students take turns: “I saw a bee”, “it was windy”, “it was all black”.
Make a poster with what the children have learned. Possible obstacles: If children have difficulty talking about what they have seen, it is possible to do a second viewing. If you don't understand it clearly, have it rephrased.
Step 3 In a workshop of 4/5 children: the teacher offers images from the film (printed screenshots) in order to be able to name and identify (a bee, a water lily, the city, the mountains, an insect, a root, etc.).
Step 4 At the grouping corner, present the completed picture book in the form of a display or cards.
