They are sand soldiers who guard and protect a pearl in the center of their sandcastle.
2-What happens at 1:30 in the film?
The castle is attacked and the soldiers prepare to defend themselves.
We first think it's a sandstorm, but we quickly realize it's a giant crab.
3-How would you describe the battle between the rider and the crab?
The crab is powerful, it destroys everything in its path and we understand that the infantrymen will not resist for long.
The rider arrives as a hero capable of defeating the crab. The camera shots and music reinforce this feeling.
The rider rushes towards the crab but at first contact, he loses his sword. The suspense increases when the rider adopts another tactic and decides to circle around the crab, but he is thrown off his horse and loses his shield.
The crab then pierces his body with its claws, the rider is beaten, he loses his sand as one loses his blood.
The crab holds him in its claws, his end is near, but at the last moment he manages to escape from the crab's claws, regains his strength and rushes into battle again. The two combatants are face to face, the fight is about to resume when suddenly a tidal wave arrives and engulfs the castle.
4-What is the film's downfall?
The ending is surprising and we discover a completely different reality from the previous scenes.
We discover that the sandcastle is on a beach and not in a desert as we initially thought.
This castle was certainly built by children and the two buckets of water next to the castle allow us to understand that it is small. The castle was simply destroyed by the tide and not by a tidal wave.
We discover that the crab, far from being a giant, is tiny.
In the center of the castle shines not a pearl but a marble.

The relative size of the characters in the film may bring to mind Lilliput the city of dwarves and Brobdingnag the city of giants in the book “Gulliver's Travels” by Jonathan Swift (1721).
The perception of reality can vary depending on the observer or the point of view adopted. In other words, what we perceive can be different depending on the position of the observer.
