The peduncle is the stem which bears the flowers, then, after fertilization, the fruits. The stems of cherries, for example.

A flower is the reproductive organ of a plant. After pollination, the fertilized flower turns into a fruit containing the seeds. The flowers can be solitary, but they are most often grouped in inflorescences.
